5 reasons why every woman needs a good quality blazer

They say that the French are the most well dressed women in the world, somehow looking effortlessly gorgeous in whatever they wear.

I can only speculate as to why French women are so fashionable – perhaps it is the easy access to the most famous labels in the world or maybe they are simply born with sixth ‘fashion’ sense – but I have a sneaking suspicion that it has something to do with the number of staple wardrobe items that keep close at hand

These are things like the classic white t-shirt, a pair of tailored pants, a wear-with-anything trench coat and a pair of men’s style loafers.

Joining the aforementioned list of staples, is the classic black blazer – an item that is essential for a French women.

Learning from their example, I think a black blazer like this one by Fate should be a permanent addition to every woman’s wardrobe and here’s why.

  • It can instantly dress up an outfit.
Throw your black blazer over jeans and a t-shirt and in an instant you are ready to go from the shops, to dinner and drinks.

  • It can be worn with anything.
The beauty of something black is that it can we worn with any other colour. In addition, the style is incredibly versatile - a dress, jeans, trousers, shorts; you name it, you can wear it with your black blazer.

  • It can provide the finishing touch to an outfit.
We all know that feeling; we’ve got an outfit all sorted but there’s something missing… Throw a black blazer over the top and your outfit is complete.

  • It is work and weekend appropriate.
Having a separate wardrobe for work and the weekend can be expensive but purchasing a good quality black blazer has you covered for both!

  • It can be worn by anyone, no matter what body shape.
Just make sure that you choose a style that suits you (a longer style for taller women, structured shoulders for pear-shapes)
