It has been a little while since our last "bloggy" blog post, where we keep you updated on everything happening at Alice... Sorry about that! So much has been happening here that it has been kinda hard to find the time to write everything down.

As I am sure you have noticed, spring has sprung at My Friend Alice - not in the literal form (just one month to go and counting), obviously, but we have been inundated with beautiful new arrivals for the coming season. Think gorgeous floral gowns (Darling London has our current favourite) and kinda-sexy-kinda-conservative date night dresses from the likes of Leina Broughton and Sacha Drake.
These new arrivals have been keeping us smiling through the coldest part of the winter. While this time of year is beautiful (see above photo!!) and some would say the most romantic time of year in Leura, it can also get bitterly cold (I am writing this as I snuggle up at my desk wrapped in an electric throw rug - an essential for working up here, and at $35 from Aldi, it's a bargain!!) and sometimes it can be hard to find the motivation to get things done! But with beautiful thing after beautiful thing arriving at the door, we are starting to really feel the warmth.
Some of your favourites for spring have been Leina Broughton's flattering party dresses, Very Very's classic styles and Elm's easy basics. I have to say, these have been our favourites too and we have loved trying them all on as we write the descriptions for you!

For a long time now, we have been dying to have our own "space". Not that we don't already but Alice's HQ doubles as a home. It is convenient, and a beautiful place to work, but as Alice grows, so does our need for more room! We recently acquired a space down the road, which we affectionately call "The Shed". It is perfect! It will allow us to hold regular pop up sales, have a permanent photo shoot space, a spacious office and warehouse all in the one place. PLUS, it even has a funky chandelier! We are in the process of moving there now, so things have been a little hectic.
We are really looking forward to getting settled in The Shed and getting a heating system up and running HA! It's not the warmest of places - my electric blanket is definitely going to come in handy!
For those of you in Sydney, we are hoping that we will be able to open the doors to our little Leura showroom at some point soon, so that you have a chance to try on and get a closer look at the things we have online. Make sure you are subscribed to our events on Facebook and make sure you are signed up to our free mailing list, so that we can keep you up to date.

In our personal lives, not a lot is going on. Melissa took a nice break over the school holidays, travelling up to the gold coast to spend some time theme-parking with the kids. They also proudly ate their way through almost every Asian dish that the city had to offer - her eldest was very excited about a particular Ramen that he tried!
Alexa has just finished booking the accommodation for a big overseas trip with her man, which she is taking at the end of the year - she'll be spending some time in the USA, as well at Italy, where her dad lives.
As for me, I am busy getting excited for the warmer weather - I have been on a little bit of a health kick, which I have since relaxed (my obsession with chocolate and cake won me over) but I have managed to keep up the bush walks - the photo above was taken in Wentworth Falls, about 10 mins from where I am sitting right now. No big plans ahead but starting to think about holiday destinations for next year.
The three of us are getting very excited to slip back into our spring/summer clothes. There's only so much coat-wearing and scarf matching that I can take, but I always feel like this at the end of a season... Bring on spring!

So sorry for the super long post - I'll forgive you if you don't make it all the way through, haha! I'll try to keep you all updated more regularly.
Until next time,
Katie xx
